The Lewis Family ~ (Family)

This shoot was a real privilege for me. The two young ladies in the photos below were delightful to work with. I don't know them well, but I can tell they are very good friends as well as sisters. Sisterhood is cool like that.

The young man in the pictures was on brief leave for the holidays after finishing up his basic training. He was leaving within a few days, so I was very glad and honored that his father asked me to do this family shoot for them. I was pleasantly surprised to have this young man ask me to get a few artistic shots of him after we had gotten some more traditional ones. A man in uniform always commands a certain amount of respect, and I think I may have been a little more tentative than otherwise, so I'm glad he asked about it.

I enjoyed this shoot very much. Hope you do, too.

Montgomery / Graves / Narron ~ (Family)

This family session has been my largest group so far... that is, other than some pictures that we took with my extended family with a tripod and self-timer. Jackie -- the cute blonde near the left in the first picture below -- had asked me to get some pictures of her family, mom, and sister's family. A great group... They kept me on my toes, but I had a lot of fun. :-)

We also tried out a new location that I'd heard about but never visited, the historic Oak View County Park in Raleigh. I loved what I saw... a quaint farm setting, historic buildings, and even a little cotton field where you can experience picking a little cotton for yourself. I didn't get a chance to explore a whole lot, but I'd love to go back to do so another time.

Mandy & Baby Boy ~ (Maternity)

I spoke with my friend Mandy about taking her maternity pictures very shortly after I learned she was expecting her second child. It's taken several months and working out of schedules (mostly on my part!), but we finally got her maternity shoot in! Very glad we did... the timing turned out to be perfect! I love the pictures we got of her beautiful baby bump. Looking forward to meeting her new little boy before too long!

The Scotts ~ (Family)

I had the opportunity of photographing the family of the pastor of our church a few weeks ago. He and his wife have four adorable children, and they decided to make the kids right at home by holding the shoot in their back yard. It was great to have the kids in their own element... They did very well, especially the older little boy. I think I have a special bond with him because I help watch him in Sunday School. ...Okay, actually he's just a ham. ;-) I thought the back yard session was a great plan, and I hope I have the chance to try it out with other families!
